Over 80% of Americans have had low back pain that interferes with work, routine daily activities, or recreation. It is the most common cause of job-related disability and a leading contributor to missed work. Low back pain is the second most common neurological ailment in the United States.

Fortunately, most occurrences of low back pain can be treated with conservative care in our office. A majority of patients that suffer from low back pain simply wait for it to go away or think it will take long term care or extensive rehab to correct the problem, which simply is not true.

We focus on getting your problem corrected and getting you back to your life using various conservative therapies such as chiropractic manipulation, McKenzie technique, corrective exercises, and soft tissue therapies.

We treat low back pain due to:
- Acute pain after bending, picking something up, lifting weights, twisting, ect
- Chronic pain due to poor posture, stress, arthritis
- Disc tears, bulges, and herniations
- Pain following a car accident
- Pain that shoots into the glutes or leg (sciatica)

Low Back Pain

Neck Pain

Neck pain is one of the most common complaints we see at Pathway Wellness Chiropractic Clinic. Whether it is a simple kink in the neck or whiplash due to a car accident, we have a variety of treatment options available to help alleviate the pain.  This can include chiropractic manipulative therapy (adjustment), McKenzie protocol, stretching, Graston technique, and myofascial release techniques, along with home exercises.

We treat neck pain due to:
- Acute neck pain that you woke up with (a “kink” in the neck)
- Chronic neck pain due to stress or poor posture
- Disc tears, bulges, and herniations
- Whiplash due to car accidents and other trauma
- Neck pain that leads to shooting pain in the arms or shoulder blade

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

Thoracic outlet syndrome is a group of disorders that occur when the blood vessels or nerves in the space between your collarbone and your first rib (thoracic outlet) become compressed. The neurovascular structures can also become compressed by the scalene and/or pectoralis musculature.

What are the common signs and symptoms?

The signs and symptoms for TOS vary patient to patient. However, they can include:

– Numbness or tingling in the arms and/or fingers.
– Pain in your neck, shoulder, head, and/or hand
– Weakened grip
– Weak pulse or no pulse at the wrist
– Arm fatigue after activity
– Cold arm and hand
– Swelling of the arm and/or hand

What are some causes of TOS?

– Anatomical defects such as a cervical rib
– Poor posture.
– Trauma such as a motor vehicle collision or sports injury.
– Repetitive activity such as typing, assembly line work, stocking shelves, pitching, ect.
– Pressure on joints, such as wearing a heavy backpack constantly or from obesity.
– Pregnancy due to joint laxity.

How does Pathway Wellness help with TOS?

The first thing we do at Pathway Wellness is give you a thorough examination to determine if TOS is the actual cause of your presenting symptoms. There are other conditions, such as a cervical disc herniation, that can mimic many of the symptoms of TOS. Once a specific diagnosis has been made, we can begin treating the issue using a variety of methods such as massage, Graston Technique, chiropractic manipulation, dry needling, stretching, and/or specific rehabilitation exercises designed to treat TOS. We may also send you home with exercises to do on your own to expedite your recovery.

If we feel that your case is not something we can help with, we will also refer you to the proper specialist so you can get the care you need.
